Agamben: Homo Sacer

In the Introduction to Homo Sacer, Agamben problematizes an uncanny coincidence of zoe (bare life) which was excluded from polis in classical world (and how it was considered a “normal” state of things) and the modern-day political discourse while democratic in its rhetoric and inclusive of all human life while de facto, it’s again bios that is symbolically inscribed in the social interactions. Bare life (zoe) embodied in millions of shanty-town dwellers, homeless, and desposed live their life between their symbolic death and physical one.
